We were seated right after walking in, and served with fresh bread and drinks pretty quickly. Our food took about 30 minutes to come, but it was well worth it! Definitely go for dessert (if you've got room, the portions are BIG here). I got the tiramisu and it was phenomenal!!+1Posted on Google

Was very disappointed when they brought out breadsticks, not their usual. When we asked what happened to their fantastic breadsticks, we were told we could still purchase a breadstick for $2.00. But I want to address the negatives: Manager/Owner, I’m not the first to write that the entire restaurant needs a deep cleaning!! The oil bottles and spices mix on the tables are really dirty. So are the ceiling fans. There is NO bartender so I wouldn’t advertise this because nobody knows how to mix a cocktail. I’ve also seen many people complain that the bread has been changed and I don’t care for it either! Please go back to the original bread! They need someone to bus tables and booths, and thoroughly wipe them clean in between customers. What we like: the salmon, lasagna, baked ziti, filet, rosemary potatoes, and steamed vegetables. UPDATE: I am pleased to report that Costa’s has cleaned up and made improvements to address the concerns mentioned in the above which was posted 4 months ago.Posted on Google

Tricia CrapetJanuary 1, 2026Costa's has always been a staple for us in dining out. The food has always been delicious and plentiful. But this trip we noticed some changes in the quality, which seems to have gone down. The Marinara, while tasty, was watery and thinner than usual, salads smaller. The wonderful delicious bread, which was alway looked forward to with our visits, was gone! In its place were scrawny breadsticks. One tiny stick per person. The atmosphere still needs a complete overhaul. Or in the very least, a change in the flooring, tables and seating. Our table had a chunk missing on the edge of the tabletop. In general, the place is run down and it does not have a clean appearance. Our server, Layla, was excellent. All of this said, Costa's PLEASE put things back the way they were even if you have to go up a little on the price. The things I have mentioned will not put you in first place as a choice when picking a restaurant. In fact, unfortunately it may bump you down a few notches. Word must have already gotten around because we were there at prime dining hours between 6:30 and 7:30 PM. and it was like a ghost town. And that makes me sad.Posted on Google

The portions are generous, so either share an entree or be prepared to take some home for lunch tomorrow. I also recommend the Greek chicken or the moussaka, they are both delicious. One of my favorite things that I always look forward to is the amazing bread. Unfortunately the management has recently changed the bread and it is decidedly inferior in proportion and flavor. I am not sure why they have made this change, but I am suggesting that they go back to the bread that the customers have enjoyed for years. Don't mess with a good thing.Posted on Google

When you enter, you'll feel as you are walking back in time. The restaurant appears not to have any updates in the past 50 years, but it doesn't matter. You won't come here for the atmosphere - you come here for the food and also the service. Last night my wife and I shared the baked spaghetti, salad and both had iced tea. Of course the delicious bread is included and our total bill including tax was $26. We ate and ate and took home a pound of baked spaghetti in a to go box! As good as the food was, our server Carrie was just that good. You'll feel welcome here and you'll want to come back again and again. 5 Stars plus!+5Posted on Google

I called the day before to order for a party. They helped me figure how much I needed to order. They offer great prices for their items and large portions. Much better than Olive Garden or other restaurants. We ordered baked ziti for 40 that comes with salad, bread and dressings. Their house dressing is the best!! It's perfect for salad and dipping your bread. Our total was just over $330. I needed to pick it up at 4:30pm and it was ready on time. The staff are so helpful and everything was perfect! Costas was wonderful to work with, very kind and conscientious, they thought of everything we would need for our event, and the food was reasonably priced. our guests loved the salad, bread and entrees (chicken alfredo, lasagna, and baked spaghetti). Costas homemade dressings are fantastic as well--the best ranch and Greek dressings around. Being of Mediterranean descent and a pretty good cook myself, I'm picky about Mediterranean food; Costas tasted like grandma's cooking. I've reviewed 119 locations in the previous account. That being said: If you've seen my other reviews, you'll know it's almost impossible to get a five-star review from me unless it's truly warranted. (Sorry, but I really try to be objective. If everyone got a five, I'd feel like I have short-changed some of the greatest restaurants around.) So, Costa's did just that. The atmosphere and service was truly excellent. But, that's not all. Wife had the Salmon and loved it. I had the Moussaka. It was crazy good! I decided I wanted to take half home, as the dish was substantial, and so delicious! Thanks, Emily. You were great! What impressed me the most was our waitress. She is the only waitress I have had that noticed that I am blind and treated me with dignity. She gave me verbal cues to wear my implements were as well as the food. She asked where I preferred my glass. I have never had a server do that before. she was extremely helpful without being smothering, which I appreciate greatly. I do not know her name, but if the managers read this, we were there on a Friday afternoon in the large dining room to the left as you walk in at a large round table. she deserves all the kudos and bonuses she can getPosted on Google

Anytime I'm in Hoover, I always pick up Eggplant Parmesan for 2 and take it home to Auburn. This includes salad & dressing for 2, breadsticks and 2 servings of Eggplant Parmesan that could easily feed 4. On top of the volume of delicious food, this is the very best Eggplant Parmesan I've ever had - and I'm a food snob!! I hesitate to mention the price because it's so incredibly reasonable. The young man bussing tables, Rob, was working harder than anyone in there, bussing tables, cleaning tables, sweeping, greeting, hosting, seating, supporting servers whenever they asked, the entire time with a smile on his face and yes or yes mam. And yet still being told he needed to do this better, or that better, or stop doing this to do that.
